Guy Mariano Pro Truck Release Party Photos
2/13/2020
Whenever someone comes out with a new signature truck, it’s safe to say a party is in order. When it’s someone as legendary as Guy Mariano, you best be sure it’s going to be a night to remember. Thunder hosted a private, invite-only skate jam at Guy’s park in North Hollywood with all the top rippers, ice cold drinks and a taco truck to keep the hungry happy. Not to mention, it also happened to be Dan Plunkett’s birthday, so you know there was cake. Thanks for the fun night, Thunder! —Alex Papke
First ones in the house, no one seemed to be ready for photos yet
Tancowny only came for the free pool
Tyson putting those Thunders to good use. Also pictured here: Christian Henry, Ish Cepeda and Ethan DeMoulin
Don’t leave hungry! Pop-up tacos courtesy of 100 Tacos
Carlos Ribeiro had to get his fixings, accompanied here by the one and only Ryan Flynn
Back inside, Tyson Peterson puts his Thunders to a better use with a back tail on the pool coping
David Reyes breaks in the new snake rail with a fakie 5-0 from rattle to forked-tongue
Two generations of tech, Blake Carpenter and Paul Rodriguez
Recent Am Scrambler, Myles Willard takes a backlip through my personal favorite, low-impact obstacle in the park
All the low-cal drinks you could ever dream of…
Kept on ice by my pick for TMOTY, Nate Alton
Foy popped his head in and went straight for the front feeble on the snake. Sorry, Jamie, I didn't wanna tell you but Ant Travis handled the front crook before you showed up
The LA Boy himself, Paulo Diaz, came out swinging with this early grab method over the hip. Doesn’t get much better than this
Legends circuit: AVE, P-Rod and Guy
Straight to it, P-Rod handled this frontside flip at least five times without missing one
GOATs in stereo, Ishod Wair, promptly gets his back
Bottoms up for the boys
Who do you think’s more stoked to be here, Ant or Jamie?
Wouldn’t be a proper blog post without at least one shotgun photo. Thanks, Tyson
Tancowny’s puts down a David-Reyes-approved shotgun before heading out
Flynn trying to give Blake a little motivation to actually pick up his board for a change
Paulo Diaz didn’t show any signs of slowing down and kept it going with the grabs all night
Plunkett’s expression says it all while Jeremy Wray covers the madness, iPhone style
Someone had to go upside down, so it might as well be Chris Colbourn
Foy had to take a time out to indulge in that nights Lakers game. Long live Mamba!
Long Beachers Christian Dufrene, Blake Carpenter, Ronnie Kessner and David Stoessel, made the nearly two-hour bumper-to-bumper drive up for this thing
Events like this wouldn’t be possible without dudes like Nate Alton, pictured here with REAL’s newest am Gage Boyle
Did we mention it was Plunkett’s birthday?
Let’s be honest, he didn’t stand a chance against that cake
Even Plunkett knows it still tastes good.
And believe it or not, some still went in for slices. Happy Birthday, Dan!
That’s gonna be a wrap! Thanks to everyone that made their way out for Guy and his new pro Thunder truck. Make sure to hit your local skate shop to cop a pair—you won’t be bummed.
