Lance Mountain Asheville DIY Fundraiser Photos
6/14/2023
The annual Foundation DIY fundraiser is one of North Carolina’s biggest weekends of the year. This time, we had THE Lance Mountain in the mountains! Friday night set it off with an art show featuring photos and illustrations from Lance, followed by a day of shredding at the DIY with our guest of honor! Then we shut it down with a night at the Outpost with killer tunes on the river plus a little hijinx from the local bands. Jump on in. —Matt Pendry
Here we are the famous Push Skateshop & Gallery. Let’s see what’s going down
You wouldn’t happen to have seen one of the most influential skaters of all time, have you?
That's not what he looks like...
The original donation bucket got jacked, so this was the solution. Good work!
Shopowner Rob and his daughter held it down all day
Ahh, made it in!
These things sold out in minutes
Guy on some Velvia, shot with an FM2. Yes, please
You better get those raffle tickets!
There’s our guy! Wonder what Billy was saying to him
Probably something about that hat
Meet your heroes
Is that a Pep Boys X Animal Chin T-shirt?
Yes it is. Some pretty heavy signatures on this one
Brian Howard, Rodent and Richard Kirby have been down since day one
There’s another familiar face: Big Joe!
“It’s called an IPA, ever heard of it?”
Rad dad J Fyle and his daughter Arabella were on the scene
If you’ve had free beer at a Foundation event, it’s because the guy on the left here. Good to see Trey Wheeler and his son in the shop
Lance Mountain and an art gallery? Of course it's a family affair
You got to love it
Better not see this on eBay
Can’t Stop the signatures. Lance has always been down with the mag!
He told me he hated this cover
Fans from every generation came through
Is that a signed rock?
You bet! Then the guy proceeds to pull out his flip phone to capture this special 2MB moment. Wes Kremer would be proud
Sick boards, but what’s up with those wheels?
This guy’s with us!
Animal Chin on repeat all night, of course
It was truly a great time. Almost every piece sold opening night. You gotta love how resourceful the scene is
Heavy crew on the way out. Don’t forget we got to skate tomorrow!
There we are! Every year I come back, something new pops up. Check out the back left corner to see what’s next. Also, I guess I’m a drone guy now?
Back here on the ground, Joey sets it off with a tasteful blunt. Lance has seen everything
Local hit Chai Pani keeping everybody fed out there
To-go only!
Jon Freeze and Big Shin Ben made the trek from ATL repping TFT!!!
Loc dogs Dylan and Meghan also know what's up
Technically street, right?
Yeah, Rodent!
If Lance wants to go doubles, you go doubles
Tough crowd
Don’t worry, that’s the face everyone makes when they see Ben skate for the first time
See what I mean?
Dylan with a dump truck off the top ropes
Cannonball!
Rad dads in surplus
Not much he won’t sign
Rodent kicks off the bowl jam
Gabe with a shove-and-grab maneuver
That's what we wanna see!
Emmit aka “The Regular” was nicknamed by Lance himself, and rightfully so
Gabe with a stylish crail
Just look at that face! Henry Tucker coming through
Seamus McKeon bridging the gap with a handplant in the deep
Lu won the ledge contest with a kickflip manny bigspin out. Sorry, I didn’t have enough frames for all that
Yeah, Henry! First place in the bowl jam. Now let's go see some bands
Am I at the right place? Where is everybody?
Slowing pouring in...
The Powder Horns kicked it off
Familiar faces Rodent and Eric holding down the back row
Finally!
Then things escalated quickly with the next band Toadhand
That’s how you make an entrance
Free money? I’m in
You think I can get another PBR with that?
Fuck the pit; get in the train!
You guys getting in there?
TOADHAND!
Just look at that face
Hard act to follow. Eventually, it started pouring rain, but The Twin Suns still finished it out. Thanks again to everyone for coming out! See ya next year
